Regular tai chi can help the body to heal

"Tai Chi was recommended to me by my occupational therapist, as part of my rehabilitation following an injury to the nerves in my arms. I have found the weekly classes with Meg to be highly beneficial, not only in improving the range of motion in my arms, but in generally improving my health and well-being.The relaxed and friendly environment of the class, in combination with the tai chi exercises really help to reduce my stress levels and provide low impact, but high beneficial physical activity. I look forward to class every week". Ian Milne 16th of February 2010

"Since commencement of tai chi a year ago my balance has improved greatly, I feel healthier and calmer. I also sleep much better after tai chi classes. I would point out that I am now a young 57 years old. I particularly like the relaxed and friendly atmosphere amongst students, new and old". S Williams 2010

Relax with tai chi after work

"This year a group of teachers has been learning Tai Chi after school with Meg. This is a difficult time for us to concentrate as most teaching days are very tiring. However Meg is able to inspire us with her very calm and thorough ways of teaching. Her instuctions are always very clear and we feel we have learnt to relax and reduce our stress levels and at the same time improve our health. The long drive home is certainly more pleasant after a Tai Chi session". From Elizabeth 2009

Correct breathing has great benefits

"I have been attending Tai Chi classes for over a year now. I started at the suggestion of my daughter when she saw it advertised for arthritis, at the time I was having problems, typically age related with hip and knee and the occasional fall for no reason also breathing problems due to emphysema. Since that time i have gradually achieved a much better sense of balance and the breathing exercises helped considerably with me being able to control my breathing instead of having to rushing to use a puffer all the time. I have been asked by friends "What on earth good can it do?" Well last year I was diagnosed with lung cancer, this meant many tests involving, scans- X rays etc. the thought of going into these limited spaces would start a panic attack, so I put into place the relaxation and breathing techniques I had been taught, and managed to cope- eyes tightly shut I must admit -but some of the scans went for up to 45 mins..I soon came to realize this was something I would never have been able to cope with a short time ago , and here I was managing and even radiotherapy every day was manageable now, So if anyone considers this form of exercise useless-- THINK AGAIN--it is a great help to me and I shall definitely keep attending classes for as long as I can. Just one more thing. I would like to thank Meg and all the people that attend classes at Ingle Farm for their encouragement". Sheila Neilson.
